This policy explains how Mizal collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, sign up for an account, connect content sources, or use any of our products and services (collectively, the “Service”). It applies to creators, visitors, and anyone who uses the Mizal platform.

Information we collect

Account and profile data

When you create an account, we collect details like your name, email address, profile preferences, and any information you choose to add to your creator profile.

Connected content sources

When you link external sources (such as blogs, newsletters, social channels, or repositories), we ingest the content and metadata you authorize us to access. This can include titles, publish dates, author names, and content body text.

We comply with the Limited Use requirements when using or transferring data from connected services, including raw and derived data.

Product interactions

Depending on the features you use, we may collect prompts, messages, workflow requests, attachments, outputs, follow-up responses, Slack or integration metadata, timestamps, and internal annotations associated with operating the Service.

Usage and device data

We collect log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken to keep the Service reliable and secure and to understand feature usage.

Support and communications

If you contact us, we keep the messages and any related information so we can respond and improve our support.

How we use information

  • Provide the Service, including content ingestion, search, and discovery features.
  • Create embeddings and indexes that help surface your content in AI-powered results.
  • Authenticate users, manage accounts, and keep data in sync with connected sources.
  • Run workflows and deliver responses, summaries, drafts, and status updates.
  • Review, annotate, and use conversations, attachments, and outputs to debug, evaluate, secure, and improve the Service, subject to the private-content safeguards below.
  • Measure performance, analyze usage trends, and improve product experience.
  • Communicate with you about product updates, support requests, and important notices.

Beta features and sensitive information

Beta features are not designed to be a confidential, privileged, or source-protected channel. Do not submit source identities, unpublished reporting materials, privileged documents, embargoed information, or other highly sensitive information unless you accept the risk that Mizal and its service providers may process that information to operate, debug, and improve those features.

How we share information

We share information with service providers who help us run the Service, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, search infrastructure, file processing, workflow tooling, Slack or connector integrations, and AI/model providers. They may access data only to perform services on our behalf and under contractual or operational restrictions we put in place.

If you choose to make your profile or content public, it may be discoverable by other users or through AI integrations that query Mizal.

For non-public content—including connected messages and files, prompts, attachments, and derived outputs—human access by Mizal personnel and service providers is limited to your documented, explicit consent to access specific content; necessary security investigations; legal obligations; or internal operations using information that is both aggregated and anonymized in accordance with applicable law. We use this content only to provide or improve user-facing features you use, or as necessary for security or legal obligations. We do not use it or allow AI providers to use it to train or improve general-purpose AI models. These safeguards take precedence over broader permissions elsewhere in this policy, including beta use, sharing, and retention.

We may disclose information if required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of Mizal and our users.

How we protect sensitive data

Our source-connector service encrypts stored OAuth access and refresh tokens using AES-256-GCM. Server-side authorization checks restrict connector access to the authorized account. Connected-source API requests use HTTPS, and connector authorization tokens are not included in the content supplied to AI agents.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion, we remove or anonymize your data unless we need to keep it for legal, security, operational, abuse-prevention, or product-improvement reasons. Conversations, outputs, and operational logs may be retained for a period after use to debug incidents, review quality, and improve the product.

Your choices and rights

  • Update or correct your profile information at any time from your account settings.
  • Disconnect content sources you no longer want Mizal to access.
  • Request export or deletion of your data by contacting us.
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link.
  • Deleting a conversation may not immediately remove associated operational logs, backups, or review records.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.

International transfers

Mizal may process information in countries other than where you live. We take steps to protect your data wherever it is handled.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email and update the date above.
